Chicagoland + Remote Managed IT & Technology Services

Technology that works for your organization.

TOLSN helps organizations across Chicagoland—and remote teams beyond it—build secure, scalable and supportable technology environments without unnecessary complexity, fragmented vendors or reactive IT.

Services

One technology partner. Less operational noise.

TOLSN brings day-to-day IT operations, identity, endpoints, security, cloud services and technical projects under a coordinated service model.

01

Managed IT

Responsive user support, administration, onboarding and offboarding, documentation, vendor coordination and operational ownership.

02

Identity & Access

SSO, MFA, lifecycle automation, access governance, SaaS provisioning and identity platform design using modern IAM practices.

03

Endpoint Management

Device configuration, policy, patching, inventory, remote support and lifecycle management across modern work environments.

04

Cloud & SaaS

Administration and optimization across productivity, collaboration and business SaaS platforms with cleaner ownership and controls.

05

Security

Practical security foundations spanning identity, endpoint protection, policy, access controls, account hygiene and operational resilience.

06

Networking & Projects

Network improvement, vendor-led implementations, migrations, technology refreshes and project delivery without losing operational continuity.

How TOLSN Works

Operate deliberately. Improve continuously.

Good IT is not just resolving tickets. TOLSN looks at the whole environment—people, access, devices, applications, vendors, documentation and risk—then improves how those pieces work together.

Clear ownershipDocumented environmentsProactive lifecycleSecurity by designBusiness-aligned decisions
1

Understand

Review the environment, priorities, pain points, vendors and current support model.

2

Stabilize

Address operational gaps, access risk, documentation and recurring support friction.

3

Optimize

Automate lifecycle work, simplify tooling and improve reliability and supportability.

4

Plan Forward

Build a practical technology roadmap instead of waiting for the next emergency.

Embedded Technology Leadership

More than support when the organization needs direction.

Organizations do not always need a full-time IT director—but they still need technology decisions made with ownership and context. TOLSN can provide embedded technology leadership alongside managed services.

Technology Roadmaps

Prioritize upgrades, projects and investment based on business need instead of vendor pressure.

Vendor Management

Coordinate providers, review solutions and keep technical accountability from becoming fragmented.

Policy & Process

Build practical standards for access, devices, onboarding, offboarding and IT operations.

Project Oversight

Drive migrations, implementations and change while keeping day-to-day operations intact.

About the Principal & Founder

Technical depth. Operational ownership. Business context.

Xavier Tolson founded TOLSN with a straightforward belief: technology should operate as a connected business function—not a collection of isolated products, tickets and vendors.

His background spans IT leadership, identity and access management, systems administration, end-user technology and enterprise IT operations. Working across both hands-on technical roles and IT management shaped the philosophy behind TOLSN: strong technology environments require clear ownership, disciplined processes, appropriate security and a plan for the entire lifecycle.

His experience includes managing IT operations, supporting geographically distributed workforces, administering cloud and SaaS environments, designing and implementing identity solutions, and leading technology projects from planning through deployment. His identity work includes SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, MFA, application integrations, automated provisioning and user lifecycle management.

That technical work is paired with the operational side of IT—onboarding and offboarding, endpoint management, systems administration, user support, vendor coordination, hardware lifecycle management, documentation, security tooling and technology planning.

The Operating Philosophy

Technology decisions rarely exist in isolation.

A security control can create a support problem. A poorly designed onboarding process can become an identity problem. An unmanaged SaaS application can become both a lifecycle and security problem. A network decision can affect every system an organization depends on.

Effective technology leadership requires understanding how those pieces interact rather than treating each one independently. That principle became the foundation of TOLSN: Technology. Optimization. Lifecycle. Security. Networking.

Enterprise Thinking Without Enterprise Complexity

Experienced technology leadership, sized for the organization.

TOLSN was created to bring disciplined IT operations and experienced technology leadership to organizations that may not need—or want to build—an entire internal technology department.

The goal is not technology for technology's sake. It is to understand how an organization operates, identify where technology creates unnecessary friction or risk, and build an environment that is secure, supportable, documented and capable of growing with the organization.

Direct Senior-Level Involvement

Strategy and execution stay connected.

As Principal & Founder, Xavier remains directly involved in client relationships, technology strategy, solution design and service delivery. Clients gain senior technical leadership without separating decision-makers from the people responsible for making those decisions work.
